This versatile plant is perfect for shallow waters, damp soil, or pond margins, offering a neat and compact growth habit that adds structure and contrast to your outdoor space.
Sea Rush features thin, arching stems that gracefully sway in the breeze, topped with tufts of subtle brownish flowers just below the sharp, pointed tips. While the flowers are not overly showy, they add a delicate touch to its overall appearance. Thriving in full sun to partial shade, Sea Rush is adaptable but appreciates some afternoon shade in hotter inland areas to prevent leaf scorching.
Not only does Sea Rush enhance the visual appeal of your pond or garden, but it also plays a vital role in supporting local wildlife. Its dense tufts provide essential shelter for aquatic organisms and attract beneficial insects, making it a great choice for eco-conscious gardeners.
Planting is easy—simply place it in reliably moist or boggy soil, or pot it up in a pond basket and position it at the water’s edge. It’s ideal for shallow pond areas or margins, where it can thrive and create a natural, organized look.
Add Sea Rush to your outdoor space for a low-maintenance, wildlife-friendly plant

Care Instructions
This plant demands minimal maintenance. You can trim it just above the water’s surface after the foliage has naturally receded in the autumn, but avoid over pruning to maintain it’s growing form. From mid-spring to early summer lift and divide congested clumps.
Repotting Instructions
If planting in the garden, dig a hold the size of the root/soil ball and plant in damp soil.
9cm marginal pond plants require potting into a mesh basket for ponds. Place in a pond no deeper than 1/3 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish.
1ltr marginal pond plants do not require repotting but will benefit from a bigger basket, there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place in pond no deeper than 1/2 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. Plants over 60cm height growth will benefit from repotting into a larger mesh basket or should be planted in gravel to prevent them from falling over in a breeze.
3ltr and 5ltr pond plants do not require repotting; there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place on the shelf of the pond at the required depth
