Bog Pimpernel (Anagallis tenella) is a charming and hardy British native perennial, perfect for adding delicate beauty to damp garden spaces. This low-growing plant forms creeping mats of small, bright green leaves, creating a lush carpet along pond margins, bog gardens, or rockeries. From late spring through summer, it produces an abundance of dainty, cup-shaped pink flowers with a sweet honey fragrance, which open fully in sunlight.
Thriving in wet soil or very shallow water (up to half an inch deep), Bog Pimpernel is ideal for softening pond edges, underplanting taller moisture-loving plants, or even spilling over the sides of water features. Naturally found in marshy meadows, peat bogs, and damp grasslands, it’s a tough, disease-resistant plant that requires no pruning and attracts bees and other pollinators. Semi-evergreen in sheltered spots, this pretty perennial is a wonderful choice for wildlife gardens and adds a touch of wildflower charm to any water-friendly planting scheme. Also known as Lysimachia tenella.

Repotting Instructions
Can also be planted in very wet soil – do not allow to dry out.
9cm marginal plants require potting into a mesh basket. Place in a pond no deeper than 1/3 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish.
1ltr marginal plants do not require repotting but will benefit from a bigger basket, there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place in pond no deeper than 1/2 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. Plants over 60cm height growth will benefit from repotting into a larger mesh basket or should be planted in gravel to prevent them from falling over in a breeze.
3ltr and 5ltr plants do not require repotting; there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place on the shelf of the pond at the required depth.
