Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia) is a charming, low-growing perennial perfect for adding lush greenery and bright pops of yellow to your garden. With its trailing stems and pairs of glossy, rounded leaves – sometimes marked with tiny black glands – it forms a beautiful mat of foliage.
From May to August, it produces cheerful, cup-shaped yellow flowers that attract bees and other pollinators, making it a fantastic choice for wildlife-friendly spaces.
Ideal for pond edges, bog gardens, or damp soil, Creeping Jenny thrives in moist conditions and can even grow in shallow water. It’s also great for container gardens, hanging baskets, and rockeries, where its stems can cascade gracefully.
Easy to grow and low-maintenance, this British native is perfect for covering bare ground, softening pond walls, or adding a wild yet tidy touch to shaded areas.

Care Instructions
Creeping Jenny thrives in fertile, moist soil and prefers full sun or partial shade – avoid very hot spots to prevent leaf scorch.
Trim back straggly or tatty stems during the growing season to encourage fresh, vibrant growth and keep the plant looking neat.
Repotting Instructions
Can also be planted in very wet soil – do not allow to dry out.
9cm marginal plants require potting into a mesh basket. Place in a pond no deeper than 1/3 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish.
1ltr marginal plants do not require repotting but will benefit from a bigger basket, there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place in pond no deeper than 1/2 maximum recommended planting depth to allow the plants to establish. Plants over 60cm height growth will benefit from repotting into a larger mesh basket or should be planted in gravel to prevent them from falling over in a breeze.
3ltr and 5ltr plants do not require repotting; there is no need to remove the mesh basket. Place on the shelf of the pond at the required depth.
